Bridget and Chris fell in love over a shared obsession with travel and tasting. Their blended backgrounds – Canadian/ Icelandic/ Polish/ British (Bridget) and Chinese/ British (Chris) taught them the essential role regional food and drinks play in each culture and inspired a curiosity to sample and learn about specialties from all countries. A passion for the outdoors has also provided the opportunity to observe how the land and climate shape produce and flavours.
Visiting places omitted or sparsely mentioned in major travel guides drew Chris and Bridget to the online blogosphere for ideas and inspiration. Far Flung Food and Vines is their way of paying it back to the many who have shared travel tips with them.
A recent move to Sydney, Australia from the UK also spurred them to catalogue events and culinary experiences living abroad.
